After 14 hours, they arrived in Manila! They were greeted by the Area President, Elder Schmutz and his wife. They spent two nights there and then took a 5 hour drive to San Fernando, their new home in the mission. The sweet office staff had set up a lunch for them complete with a cake and all! They were able to meet and talk with President and Sister Bangal, the mission president they were replacing. And then the work began! Getting the house all set up and preparing for the first MLC (Mission Leadership Conference). They have already expressed their love for the amazing Assistant's Elder Davies, Elder Mitchell and Elder Briganti, Sister Davis (mission nurse) and Elder and Sister Lindenlaub, who are serving as a senior couple. We cling to our phones awaiting their text messages but we have been so grateful to hear them doing so well, despite a few kinks that needed to be worked out with the Facilities Manager the first week. We believe that even if the house didn't have a roof my mom would say, "It's great!! Things are good!" Her positive perspective is inspiring.
