Saying Goodbye and Some Updates

Here is the update from my mom:

"For the past 6 weeks our work has been vastly different here in the Baguio Mission.  Our missionaries are living under what is termed "extreme enhanced community quarantine".  Basically it means they are not allowed to be out of their apartments except to shop for essentials: food, medicines, water etc.  It has been a challenge for them but they have done so well!  They are positive and trying to stay productive in their homes.  Our missionaries here do not have smart phones.  We communicate with them through calls and texts.  Except for the missionaries helping us in the office, we have not seen any of them for 6 weeks.  We have given them a daily schedule to follow which includes plenty of exercise time, special Book of Mormon reading assignments, Preach My Gospel study assignments, etc.  Their attitudes have amazed us but they are anxious to be able to get back out and teach the Gospel!

We are under the same quarantine rules.  Our lives right now are the same as the missionaries.  We are not allowed to be out for any reason other than basic needs.  Last evening we were able to connect with all the missionaries through Microsoft Teams.  It's something new we have been using to talk with all the missionaries at once since we do not have smart phones.  We had a wonderful meeting with them even though it was just hearing their voices!  We had prayers, musical numbers, great talks and some fun games.  We are finding many new ways to accomplish our work in these unusual times."

"We waned to share some more pictures from the day all of the foreign missionaries left."

"Saying goodbye to our Assistants - Elder Christensen and Elder Thomas"

"We love our senior couples and appreciate all they have done to make the Baguio Mission better!  Elder and Sister Lindenlaub, Elder and Sister Christensen and Elder and Sister Harris, we miss you so much."

"We have been so blessed to have these missionaries step into their new assignments.  Elder Bernal took over for Sister Lindenlaub as the executive secretary and recorder."

"Elder Omlang took over for Elder Lindenlaub as supply manager."

"Elder Sacil took over for Elder Harris as housing manager."

"Elder Ortiz took over for Sister Harris as finance manager."

"Elder and Sister Christensen took care of apartments, 72 hour kits and bikes."

"Our new Assistants: Elder Ogaya and Elder Racines"

"Even though our mission office is close by, we have been having our office staff meetings over Zoom!"

"The first weekend in April was General Conference.  As President Nelson promised, it was a conference like no other!  We had to really find creative ways for our missionaries to listen to it.  We loved hearing from our Prophet and other general authorities.  Another exciting thing about General Conference was that it was time take off another dot.  Here are our grandkids taking off the second dot!  We love and miss them so much."

"Like most school kids around the world, our grandkids are now doing their school work at home.  Our 4 daughters and son-in-laws have become homeschool teachers!  Here are some pictures of them working hard to accomplish that."
